Budapest Lokopark

Lokopark in Budapest

Lokopark is a joint venture of the Hungarian State Railways, MAV Rt. and Intertraverz Rt. The goal is to offer special services, which can expand and enhance the choices you can offer your clients.

The main activity of Lokopark is the organisation of nostalgic railway trips on restored vintage trains. We have nearly 50 different types of vehicles, all of historic interest, and some well known throughout Europe. They are available for hire both for domestic use and international travel.

Our tourist programmes start from Budapest and travel to the most popular tourist centres around the country. Steam trains are in regular daily service around Lake Balaton in the high season.

Excursions

The Hungarian Railway Museum is a unique and extravagant venue suitable for corporate events, receptions, gala dinners, pop, rock and classical concerts, conferences, training, product shows, family days and other get-togethers. We also provide special attractions (e.g. fireworks from a steam engine, a steam engine "bursting through" a doorway, candle-lit walkways) to make the event unforgettable.
The location of the Museum allows events of any type to be conducted without time or noise restrictions. The Railway Museum is readily accessible by a vintage diesel train from Nyugati Railway Station.

Originally a sleeper, Istropolitan was converted into a saloon in the 1990s. The interior of the carriage is finished to a high standard evoking the style of the 1920s. The vehicle has its own acoustic system suitable for quality musical entertainment. The saloon section has a bar and seating area where the tables and chairs can be arranged to suit uses ranging from presentations, small conferences and receptions to gala dinners. The other section of the carriage comprises six compartments, which can be combined into pairs. Overnight each compartment can provide up to three berths. There is a washbasin in each compartment, and the carriage has one shower compartment.
